Asheville's Coleman Pressley became the first third-generation driver to see the checkered flag at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, and he did it despite an amazing amount of pressure.

For the first half of the race, Pressley was pressured lap after lap by points leader Marty Ward, but Ward hit the inside wall and cut down a tire as the crossed flags flew.

From that point on, Pressley was pressured by defending track champion David Roberts, and he withstood the pressure with great calm.

But there was a lot of races going on. Ward, who found himself back in 18th with half the race gone, stormed through the field up to fourth when time ran out.

"This is my biggest win, ever," Pressley said. "I have been trying so hard here. My grandfather won here, and my dad won here, and this is just terrific. We got flames (on his car) this week, and maybe they made the difference. I've been trying so hard and we finally got it all together."

Roberts took second, with Dillon third and Ward fourth. Kenneth Headen took fifth.

Chris Chastain spent seven laps putting pressure on Chris Francis in the Sportsman main event, then, during a caution flag, found himself with the lead after Francis went to the pits.

"I don't know what happened to Francis," Chastain said in Victory Lane, "He was running pretty strong."

Tyler Stephens took his first checkered flag of the season in the first Charger main, with a lot of competition from Andy Norris and his brother, Ricky Stephens

Scott Mann went from fourth to first in the second Charger main, with Chuckie Greer coming all the way from the rear to finish second.

In the first Renegade race, Tyrone Anglin started in eighth place, and took just a few laps to make it all the way up to second place. From there, he had to wait and take advantage of a better-handling race car before he passed Freddy Hale, Jr., for the victory.

Dale Walker made winning look easy in the second Renegade main event, with Ray McAdams taking second.
