Every time Greenville-Pickens Speedway has scheduled two Late Model Stock races on the same night, Marty Ward has won both ends.
Ward won the two mains on opening night, he won the twin 25's, and he won the twin 50's on Saturday night.
A four-time track champion, Ward had little trouble in the first race, but due to the first six cars inverting for the nightcap, Ward found himself on the third row, outside, at the start of the race.
“For once, I had some patience,” Ward said “My car was loose, and I couldn't get the runs the way I wanted early, but everyone else was getting loose, as well, and I managed to get by. Using my patience.”
“I guess I can go ahead and say it now. I like those double races.”
Defending track champion David Roberts took second, with Anthony Anders third and Coleman Pressley fourth. Kenneth Headen finished fifth.
Ward is a four-time track champion and the current points leader, padding his lead over Roberts in the standings.
In the first few laps of the opening race, Randy Porter was on the point, but with just four laps gone, Ward went by on the inside to take command.
“We were loose, but we didn't seem to be as loose as everyone else,” Ward said. “It seemed like all of the cars were pretty loose, so I'm not going to let my guys do much to my car for the second race.”
With the two victories, Ward added several points over Roberts. In the opener, Ward was followed by Porter, with Roberts third. Headen was fourth and Pressley finished fifth.
In the second Charger main event, Zachary Pressley came up from his seventh-place starting position to win, with Les Mahaffey pressing hard but coming up second. James Johnson was third, with Andy Norris fourth and Mike Mote fifth.
The results of the first Charger race and the Sportsman race were pending post-race inspection.
In the first Renegade race, Dale Stancil took the checkered flag after starting on the front row, with Matt Hale finishing second. Percy Proctor was third, with Monica Blount fourth and Terry Hawthorne fifth.
Dale Walker started third and wasted little time getting to the front in the second Renegade main event, as J.D. Griffith, who started shotgun on the field worked his way up from ninth to second. Scott Padgett was third, with Jeremy Drummond fourth and Scott Smith fifth.
