Feb. 27th 2009

The second annual Greenville Pickens Speedway 'Starting Line Party' will usher in a new season of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action in the upstate.  Drivers, team members, and fans of the speedway are invited to join in the fun on Thursday, March 12 at Bailey's Sports Grille on Laurens Road in Greenville, with your host the staff of WCCP, 104.9, 'The Drive'.

"We are thrilled to once again be the home of the Dick James Law Firm UPSTATE RACE DAY SHOW in 2009, to be broadcast throughout the upstate each race day from Greenville Pickens Speedway," said station PR director Aly Haley.  "The local racing format of the show gives our all sports station a well rounded mix that we love being associated with."

Greenville Pickens Speedway show cars will be on hand, and 2009 drivers in all GPS divisions will be introduced.  The on site Meet & Greet is scheduled from 5 - 6:30 pm, and the main program is scheduled to begin about 7:30pm.  A single elimation pool tournament open to 2009 GPS drivers will award the first trophy of the new season.
