Greenville-Pickens Speedway's defending champion, Marty Ward, started fourth for Saturday night's 40-lap Late-Model Stock main event, and he needed just five laps to get by Michael Cherry for the top spot.     From there on Ward was never headed, and he said he enjoys racing the younger drivers at GPS. "Michael is a good guy, and I like racing with him. We've got a lot of good young drivers here, and it seems to make racing more fun."     The win helped Ward in his quest to regain the points lead, but current leader Roger Powell finished third, behind Ward and Cherry, so the edge was not cut by much. Kenneth Headen worked his way up to fourth, and John Lewis Hightower, who found his first victory lane at GPS last week, finished fifth.     Randy Ballew started fourth in the Sportsman main, but when the cars got back to the start-finish line on the second lap, he was running in front and was never headed. C.M. Knight, who was involved in an altercation on the first lap, worked his way up to second place. Tony Bridgeman took third, followed by Jamie Altop and Tim Lollis was fifth.     After a pair of heat races to determine the starting field, the Charger division put on a 12-lap show. Jamie Tate took the victory, with Phillip Peters second and Tyler Stephens third. Actually, the best competition in the race came when the Stephens brothers, Tyler and Ricky, were battling for third. Tyler temporarily lost control of his car in the second turn, and faded back to fifth. James Johnson took fourth.     In the first Renegade race, Ricky Burnett made the pass on Matt Hale on the last turn of the last lap to take the win. Hale finished second, and Benny Taylor was third. Freddy Hale, Jr., was fouth and Zach Menders took fifth.     T.J. Lollis led from start to finish in the second Renegade main, with Dale Stancil in second. Terry Hawthorne was third, with Jimmy Mullinax fourth and Terry King fifth.
