There seems to be some argument about whose house Greenville-Pickens Speedway actually is, Saturday night, as former champion Randy Porter jumped out front on the very first lap of the 40-lap main, and stayed right there for the entire 40-laps.

"This is great. Marty has been so dominant all year, and I had decided not to come back at all, but I decided to do some of the things I've heard Marty was doing, and we were able to hold him off. I have seen where Marty is a lot tougher in the latter stages of the race, so we were planning for our car to be pretty much the same."

Porter, who was track champion in 1993 and again in 2006, has been a dominate force through the years, but he and his wife became parents of another child a year ago and decided to just race part-time for a while.

"For the last three weeks I've worked as hard as I've ever worked on the car, and it paid off for us. Marty had been very strong, and this win really means a lot to me."

Ward, who is chasing his sixth track championship, came into the race just four points behind current leader Roger Powell, and cut that lead in half as Powell finished third.     "I was planning to take next week off, Porter said, "But after the way we ran tonight I'm going to have to give some thought to coming back for the big Twin 50-s next week."

With Porter, Ward and Powell in the first three spots, Anthony Anders was fourth and Jeremy Burns took fifth. (EDITOR'S NOTE:  Porter's win was nullfied upon post race technical inspection, with weight issues awarding the win to second place finisher Marty Ward.)

Tim Lollis led from start to finish in the Sportsman main, with Randy Ballew moving up from third to second. Tony Bridgeman was third, with Jamie Altop fourth. C.M. Knight took fifth and Bob Root was sixth.

It took Jamie Tate a while to work his way to the front in a wreck-filled Charger main event, but once he managed to get by Scott Mann he had smooth sailing. James Johnson was third, with Phillip Peters fourth and Tyler Stephens fifth.

In the first Renegade main event, Matt Hale jumped out front at the start, but Travis Cox managed to run him down and pass to take the victory. Dale Stancil was third, with Adam Satterfield fourth and Benny Taylor fifth.

Terry Hawthorne didn't have any trouble in the second Renegade main, with Terry King taking second. Zach Meinders was third, with T.J. Lollis and Dicky Davenport rounding out the top five.
